It needs 1.5 times the normal physical (str/dex) requirements of the weapon, so for the Smelter Greatsword it would be 60 strength, 15 dex. Red iron twinblades is my favorite weapon. Scales only on STR, hits hard, good against groups and the triple hit light attack is great for breaking poise. Requires 20 DEX though.In my experience with a poison build dual wielding Mytha's Bent Blade (s) was fun and pretty effective in pvp and sometimes in pve. You can't infuse them with poison because they inflict TOXIC on your enemies. Not many enemies in the came can inflict toxic and this is the only weapon that can inflict toxic. #6.

The nature of DS2 is such that personal preference will be huge here. There really isn't a best weapon for all situations. I really like a lightning Heide Spear. I don't particularly care for the Heide Lance, but some players like it a lot. The Heide Knight Sword is a solid choice.
