Personally, to be it's a choice between spending $600-$750 on a nice 9422 and sitting on it for 30-50 more years with it tucked away in a gun safe, versus actually taking it out ...The Marlin is not quite as classic looking, but it has a heavy target barrel, a wider forend, is a true take-down model and has that microgrove.
