10th March 2023So I recently bought the Astro a50 gen 4, and they're amazing. However the mic sounds a little bit like it's underwater, so I tried to look up how to change it on the command center and I saw a thing that said you could change the presets (warm, airy and bright I think). ... Hey, my Astro A50 suddenly stopped working. I tried hard reset etc, and it's asking for the firmware update, I click ok but then it says Firmware update failed, and it suggests a manual update. When I select the manual update file, it sticks on the window "Please put your headset on the base" screen even though the headset is connected to the base!At the moment, only the ASTRO Command Center for Windows 10 will recognise the MixAmp Pro TR 2019. Here's a link to the ifixit Astro A50 2016 Headset Motherboard Replacement guide. In Step.4 of the guide the micro USB port is visible. It appears that the board that it is on is held in by a screw, because in Step.5 it is no longer there and there has been no mention of it being removed. Check if the port is still soldered onto the pcb.Again, try Command Center from Astro’s site — if your A50 is Gen 3, the Microsoft Store version requires it to have at least firmware 33535.42 + 34325.42 ... You could try setting the sound output to the A50s and then reopen the command center (also, flip the PC switch back and forth for good measure). I have a pair of A40s dedicated for PC, but when I tried to update the firmware on both of my A50s, it wouldn't recognize it until I changed the output to the A50s.
