Thanks for the link to the pin. The spring and pin is all that there is. This shaft is from a Tractor supply 48" tiller I bought new. The gouges are right where the pin sits when engaged on the PTO shaft. Only half of the fat part nearest the thin part is ever exposed to the PTO shaft. The gouges are all the way around the fat part.To determine how much of the shaft to cut, first attach the implement to the tractor 's 3 point hitch, without the shaft installed.
