All the old can type flashers would go into fast flash mode on just about any tow vehicle if you hooked a trailer up and added the 2 extra incandescent turn signals back in the days before LED technology. If you are doing research on what needs to be done to solve the LED hyper-flash problem, you might want to see if replacing the electronic flasher/turn signal relay is a better solution instead. LEDs are lower wattage, meaning higher resistance. Try putting a 15 ohm resistor in parallel with the light. To test this turn on the turn signal and put each side of the resistor across both sides of the connector.
