The Kansas Department of Wildlife Parks and Tourism (KDWPT) has been cooperating with landowners since 1991 through the Walk-In-Hunting Program (WIHA) to lease private ground for public hunting access. This program has been extremely successful, particularly in western Kansas, and has approximately 1 million acres enrolled statewide.This project is a way to give additional incentives to landowners who provide limited hunting access where it is needed the most. This application will allow KDWP to select a number of hunters that can access a site at any given time.
