Kimber pro carry vs ultra carry
I am either going to go with the HK p2000sk or possibly a kimber ultra carry 2. If i get the p2000sk it will more than likely be a 9mm sa/da. if i get the ultra carry it will obviously be a .45. that being said im just looking for some info on the two manufacturers. I hear some say that HK is indestructible and some that beg to differ.Regardless of what you decide, let us know how it works out. I'm about to trade up to a Kimber and I'm inclined to go with the Pro Carry because the 4" barrel may be a little more reliable and it has full-sized grip. I've carried Colt Officer sized and Colt Full-sized in the past. The primary thing I think was they reduced the amount of the carry melt treatment a little. The basic difference between Series II and pre-series II (like yours) is the Series II guns have a Swartz firing pin safety.I had problems working the safety on the EMP.I have old arthritic hands and I kept thinking that was the problem. I have A Kimber 45 that I shoot just fine. So I went and bought A Ultra Carry and I shoot this gun just fine. No problems with the safety issue. Fit and finish are both excellent, and it is actually tighter in slide fit than the the Kimber. With about 400 rounds through the Operator, I have had 2 FTF issues in the first 100 rounds, none since. The Operator has much better sights, and to me has less felt recoil than the Kimber.
