I have a 2011 impala 3.5 and when i start it up hot or clold i hear a knocking type noise on the right side of the engine. i talked to a mechanic at the chevy dealership and was told this is normal, that the harmonic balancer on the front of the engine makes the noise when ...A repetitive clicking noise from behind the center area of the dash panel is usually caused by a broken stepper motor actuating arm. The actuating arm controls the direction of air flow in the climate control system. Disassembly of the center console will be required to access and change the broken arm with the updated, reinforced part.
