I went with the medium spring in the P365 XL and it does help a bit with recoil management. Rating recoil on a scale from 1 to 10 with a 10 being the easiest to handle, I'd see the factory assembly as an 8 and the DPM being a 9 or slightly higher. The gun shop said it was left over dried factory grease from the manufacturing process.Having too strong of a recoil spring can make your slide return before the next round has a chance to feed properly.
