The National Postal Museum will become the world’s greatest philatelic resource and house the definitive collection of American postal history. We will prioritize the increase and diffusion of knowledge through our research, scholarship, exhibits and education, and lead the Smithsonian in becoming the most welcoming and accessible museum.This national collection of postal memorabilia was housed in the Smithsonian’s Arts and Industries Building from 1908 until 1963, and in 1964, it was moved to the National Museum of American History.
