Springfield prodigy vs staccato p

Both the prodigy's were $1400 OTD at a lgs. so $1,000 savings vs the Staccato for me (for 1 Prodigy vs 1 Staccato). Of course now I want the P, cause buy all the guns. Even if I add an EGW ignition kit to the 5", I'd still be $850 cheaper than the P. For some that is pocket change, for others, not so much.

The only rival to staccato is other double stack or single stack 1911 platform pistols. As far as I understood, Staccatos are only the bottom, entry tier of the competition 2011 market. Staccato Ps don't need to cost $2.5k, but it's foolish to expect a pistol thats $1k cheaper to be "just as good". Put an EGW ignition and spring. 2.5lb crisp trigger. 3500 to 4K rounds through it, slides like it’s on ball bearings.
