The Taurus is a fun gun to shoot, emulating the plethora of plastic-framed wonder-pistols of our era. Same here. Ruger Mk IV 22/45 with Volquartsen upgrades has been idle since TX22 came along. TX22 more accurate (for me, especially after adding fiber optic front site), totally reliable, and 16-round mags make for great plinker.Cons. Grip texturing is fairly non-existent, and the grip feels slippery. The MSRP of $533 seems a bit pricy for a Taurus .22, even with the included accessories. One of the included mags was missing its round pull-down tab that allows quick loading. The mag was still functional, but this was a QC miss.

Literally every review and video on it just raves about how reliable it is for a .22, and how well the magazines work.A very solid .22 . It operates best with High Velocity ammunition. With standard velocity it will have failures. A much better manufactured pistol than the Ruger SR 22 in my opinion, but the Ruger is not as picky about ammunition. I have the T22 and it's older Brother the M23 which I have been shooting for decades. The BERSA's are fine guns.

Even girls with small hands can handle a glock 17 with advantage arms 22 conversion, they are very reliable with the 10 round mags, and more accurate than most people can shoot.Definitely don't get the old 'full size' m&p 22. The glock has reliability issues in practically every online review I've seen. Which when considered along with the claims and marketing glock did upon release, sours its taste in my opinion. The Ruger has a backwards safety compared to most modern defensive pistols.

When the Taurus TX22 came out in 2019 I was intrigued. A 16 shot 22 pistol when nearly all others were 10 rounds. The price was inviting as well. While the Walther P22, Ruger SR22 and S&W M&P 22 were going for $300+ The price of the TX was $230-250 and Taurus then began offering a $50 factory rebate.For reference, the Taurus TX22 is about the size of a Glock 19. I don't know if that is small enough for your puroses. The S&W M&P 22 Compact is also worth a look. It's about the same size as the Ruger SR22 but without the "upside down" (from a 1911 shooter's perspective) safety lever. The Kel-Tec P17 is light, inexpensive and fun to shoot.
